Die! Die! Die! will soon be releasing their sophomore effort, Promises Promises. Apparently, they like repetition. As a hodge-podge of everything, Die! Die! Die! has been compared to Sonic Youth and Black Flag. Check out their first single off their upcoming album.

This track came up randomly on my playlist, so I thought I’d share an oldie but goodie. Well, it really isn’t THAT old, but still. As an added treat: the LIVE version of “Blonde On Blonde” from a performance in Toronto. Again, nothing new and all that, but it’s good. And, if you’d believe it, the live version is way better.

Lovedrug - Thieving

Lovedrug - “Thieving”
Cleveland, Ohio
File Size: 3.02 mb, Length: 3:17

Lovedrug is kind of hard to describe, and it’s rather baffling when I try to figure out what kind of fanbase they have. So if you know, please tell me, for I cannot figure out for the life of me who would like their music. That sounds a little harsh perhaps, but simply put, Lovedrug walks the line between experimental indie rock and relatively mellow piano rock that can only be described as “alternative.” They’re not that easy to classify; I can’t readily dissect who their influences might be. But… I feel bad using the term alternative. They’re not bad. They don’t deserve to be assigned such a lame subgenre.

Daphne Loves Derby - Stranger Acoustic

Daphne Loves Derby - “Stranger (Acoustic)”

File Size: 4.1 mb, Length: 2:59

When Daphne Loves Derby was first making waves being an independent band that had captured the hearts of fans everywhere with their self-released acoustic and indie music, I was unimpressed. I didn’t find them to be all that unique or as great as everyone made them out to be. But when their first album came out, my thoughts changed completely. I soon found myself in love with Daphne Loves Derby’s music. “Stranger” is their recent PureVolume treat that they gave to fans as a thank you present. Available for a limited time on their site, it will now be available on Redefine for maybe a less limited time! Enjoy this acoustic treat, even if “acoustic” to Daphne Loves Derby doesn’t sound all that much different from ther usual!
