Something tells me that song is supposed to sound old, decrepid, raw, and slightly haunting. It does. The vocalist is like a deranged church preacher who’s been possessed; he doesn’t quite sing, but mixes laughs, screams, and sinister talking to question the listener, “What does it mean to be human?” This track is off the kilter and not for individuals who don’t like conceptual, atypical things, for sure. But it tells a story of a, well, daemon (demon) meeting, and makes you want to dance, even if dancing to a song like this feels somewhat wrong in theory. Claps, cymbals, drums, and an amazing bassline battle with one another for your attention, making “Daemon Meeting” an interesting track to dissect, even by the 200th listen.
